Santa Clara University alum and executive leader Sam Miri is excited to highlight an upcoming Career Advisory Social Hour at SCU! Miri is excited about this event because it specifically calls out to students who are interested in pursuing careers in business and entrepreneurship — just like this SCU alum!
Are you a Santa Clara University student interested in pursuing a career in business or entrepreneurship? Even if you are not currently majoring in either of these disciplines, Sam Miri still believes that you have a place at this event. Why? Because, in his professional opinion, there is so much more to excelling in business than maintaining a degree specific to the industry. For example, someone who wishes to launch a startup in gamification may very well benefit much more from a degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science than a broad focus of general business. Or someone who wishes to open their own restaurant may earn more from Culinary Arts courses than anything else. The entrepreneurial spirit is something that comes from within, explains Miri. It is either developed over time through hands-on experience or sparked by a lifelong passion for innovation and thinking outside of the box. That energy is not degree or major specific. And that’s why the executive leader believes that you should attend this Social Hour even if you are not currently studying either of the two headlining disciplines.
